Comedy Festival

Went to one of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival events last night. A couple of friends and I wandered into the city [well, we didn’t actually wander, we drove and spent lots of time looking for a free park before giving up and conceding to the fact that we would have to pay] and found ourselves staring up at the chalkboard of acts to choose from outside the Town Hall.
A woman approached us and took advantage of the fact that we appeared to be in decision-making-mode, and offered us cut-price tickets to the show that she was part of … Normally $18, on special for $10 for us! We figured that we couldn’t really complain if for $10 we only laughed 10 times in an hour, so we bought the tickets and made our way to the RMIT Kaleide theatre after each munching down a $6.50 kebab. The comedy group are called The 3rd Degree, and we saw their show called Eskimos with Polaroids … it began in darkness with a couple of flashes. The lights went up and a man dressed as an eskimo stood their, camera in hand. What do eskimos get from sitting on the ice for too long? Polaroids.
The show was really quite funny, and we laughed about it all the way back to the car and felt like we’d had a great night out for under $20 each.
