Still there … ??

Yup.
Still there!

He was happily paddling around the pool in the brilliant sunshine this morning …
I gave him some more bread and a dish of water (thought that he might prefer that to the chlorinated pool water).

Today, my housemate, Leanne, is going to investigate getting the appropriate people to come and take the (possibly injured) duck away to a more suitable home. After bringing her 15-month-old nephew over to our house to have a look first, that is!

And if it turns out that he is a domestic duck who has lost his way, then I am quite happy for him to stay a while longer, while we put up ads in Station Street in the hope of finding his owners.

  1. Well Trish, in the words of the grinning Parks Victoria man I spoke to this morning, “Congratulations, you’re now the owner of a duck, she most likely just wants a safe place to lay her eggs. And if she decides that she doesn’t like your backyard (like if we had a cat or dog), then she will just fly away.”

Apparently the chlorinated swimming pool will be no problem because they are such hardy creatures. So hooray!! We have a pet!
